WEEK 6 (27/05/15)

Very high condensation, we can barely see the interior of the tank.

Plants are growing without problems but some are a bit fallen maybe because of humidity.
Flowers look a bit bad, this can be due to humidity or because they may be dying.

Non-fertilized soil is as deserted as it was at the beginning and water is maintaining a constant level; that means te water cycle completes himself even if water doesn’t filtrate from soil.  There are some curious facts like that where there are more plants, water condensates more in the glass and that even if flowers are dying, other plants are growing without problems (this can be due to the usual habitat where these flowers are).

PLANT
AVERAGE GROWN
Flowers (fertilized soil)
5, 71 cm
Lentils (fertilized soil)
14, 14 cm
Lentils (normal soil)
0 cm
Prasley (mixed soil)
6, 78 cm

In this last week, both CO2 and O2 have grown.
CO2 passed from 10022 ppm (0,01%) to 100200 ppm (0,1%) which, even if it looks like a very little change, means a great increase. O2 in his case had a 0, 47% and increased to 0, 53% which is also a big change. But they are many possible errors about this because those gases could go in and out because of a bad hermetic closing or maybe when we introduced the measurers.

Apart from that temperature reached 27,6ºC.

WEEK 5 (20/05/15)

Plants keep growing and water doesn’t decreases too much, very similar to the last week. The plants start looking for light, especially parsley, so they move to the window. No changes for the non-fertilized soil part where nothing grows.

PLANT
AVERAGE GROWN
Flowers (fertilized soil)
5, 42 cm
Lentils (fertilized soil)
13, 07 cm
Lentils (normal soil)
0 cm
Prasley (mixed soil)
5, 57 cm

Oxygen this time increased back to 0, 47% which means an increase of 3% but the quantity of CO2 maintains at 0,01% (10022 ppm). The temperature this time stayed at 28ºC.

The fact that oxygen quantity changes but we observe no changes on the CO2 percentage makes us think we maybe did something wrong, probably when we were calculating the oxygen, CO2 and temperature, and we had to open the tank slightly.
